Welcome to Locate Guard, an application provided by CodeJoy ("we," "us," or "our"). By installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not accept these Terms, please stop using and uninstall the App.

1. Description of Service

Locate Guard provides consent-based location sharing features for families, friends, and trusted people. Users can invite trusted people with a code, connect only after the invited user accepts or enters the code, share location with permission, receive sharing-related notifications, and stop sharing at any time.

The App is not designed for secret tracking, hidden monitoring, spying, or any location sharing without consent.

2. Consent and Lawful Use

IMPORTANT: You may use Locate Guard only for transparent, consent-based location sharing. Unauthorized tracking, hidden monitoring, stalking, spying, or any use without valid consent is prohibited.

You are responsible for following all applicable laws and respecting the privacy rights of other people. You must not use the App to:

Track, monitor, or share another person's location without authorization;
Install the App secretly on another person's device;
Hide or bypass system permission prompts or sharing notices;
Harass, threaten, control, harm, stalk, or spy on any person;
Use location information for unlawful, unsafe, or privacy-infringing purposes;
Violate laws, third-party rights, or app store policies.

3. Permissions and User Controls

Certain features require location permission, background location permission, notification permission, network access, or similar system settings to work properly.

Location permission is used to share current location with approved people;
Background location permission may be used to keep approved sharing active when the App is not open;
Notification permission may be used to inform users about invitations, sharing status, and related updates;
Users can manage permissions in the App or device settings;
Users can disconnect or stop sharing whenever needed.

Some features may be unavailable or incomplete if required permissions are disabled.

4. Location Accuracy and Availability

Location results can be affected by GPS availability, network conditions, device hardware, operating system settings, battery settings, and other factors. We do not promise that location information will always be completely accurate, current, or complete.

The App is a utility service and should not be relied on as the only method for emergency rescue, medical safety, crime prevention, or similar critical uses.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to use Locate Guard responsibly and only for lawful personal safety, coordination, and consent-based location sharing purposes. You are responsible for your account activity, device settings, invite codes, connected people, and the way you use information obtained through the App.

If you share an invite code, you should share it only with people you trust. You should disconnect or stop sharing if a connection is no longer wanted or appropriate.

6. Intellectual Property

All software, design elements, logos, technology, and related materials in the App are owned by CodeJoy or its licensors. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, copy, modify, distribute, or try to obtain the App's source code except where applicable law expressly permits it.

7. Service Changes

We may update, improve, suspend, or discontinue parts of the App from time to time. We may also modify these Terms to reflect changes in App features, legal requirements, regulations, or app store policies. Continued use of the App after updates means you accept the updated Terms.

8. Termination

We may suspend, limit, or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms, misuse the service, infringe privacy rights, or use the App for unlawful or unsafe purposes. You may stop using the App at any time by disconnecting active sharing connections and uninstalling the App.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, CodeJoy will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages, including loss of data, device or battery-related issues, inaccurate location results, interruptions, or disputes between users that arise from location sharing or App use.
